Dra. Alejandra López Jimenez

Alejandra worked in the laboratory since 2013 as an undergraduate student. She participated in several project that including the taxonomy and systematic of digeneas parasites of freshwater fishes and aquatic birds from Mexico and Middle America. Alejandra graduated in 2015 and the same year started with her Master. Alejandra combined morphological and molecular technics to study the taxonomy and systematic of Diplostomids and Strigeids from Mexico. During her Master published several papers. One of the most interesting studies was with the genus Uvulifer that cause the black spot disease in freshwater fishes from Mexico and Middle America. She has gained a lot of experience doing research on several projects related with parasites of aquatic birds.  Alejandra started the PhD program, 2019. She is working with helminths parasites of raptor birds and she is discovering an amazing diversity of parasites in Mexico. Ale
