Andrés joined the lab during the summer of 2007. He analyzed the taxonomy and systematic of samples previously collected of acanthocephalans of the genus Neoechinorhynchus. He combined morphological and molecular techniques discovering an extraordinary biodiversity within the genus Neoechinorhynchus. Andrés made an excellent job during his Master degree. Andrés defended his master thesis in 2008. Andrés performed his Ph. D with the Professor Gerardo Pérez Ponce de León. Currently, Andrés is an independent researcher at the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California.
